Player Tryout Information

All players interested in participating in the 2023 All-Stars must try-out and be selected to a team. See the FAQ below for more information about the try-out and how teams may be selected. There are capacity limitations for each team, so please register for try-outs ASAP. If you decide not to attend try-outs, please notify your Registrar & Division VP so we can open your spot.

 

2023 Tentative GEPB All-Star Schedule

The Pony Baseball schedule details aren’t finalized yet. The tournaments usually range from June thru July (maybe early August).  More specifics from Pony Baseball to come, also subject to change.

Frequently Asked Questions

What age divisions are eligible for All-Stars?

Pony has 7U/8U, 9U, 10U, 11U, 12U, 13U, 14U.  It should be noted that potential opponents in the tournaments might be Pony Select Teams from other Pony Leagues.  These Select Teams may have been playing together the entire season and might create stiffer competition.

 

Can I just sign-up my player for All-Stars?

No, players must try-out and be selected to a team.

 

What is the registration cost to try-out for All-Stars? 

Try-out cost is $0. 

 

What is the time commitment?

All-Star teams plan to practice 2-3x weekly in addition to tournaments. Tournaments for All-Stars are weekday AND weekend, with many games also being on weekdays, including afternoon games, as your team may advance further into the Tournaments.

 

How are All-Star coaches selected? 

For All-star coach selection, this is based on GEPB current All-Star Bylaws in conjunction the GEPB VP of Competitive Divisions & All-Stars. Coaches then finalized by the Board.

 

What do try-outs look like? 

Players will be evaluated on running, hitting, bunting, infield and outfield work.
