Golden Eagle PONY Baseball is an all-volunteer non-profit league. Family involvement is crucial to the success of our League and community. GEPB started the Volunteer Hour Program to encourage participation. Every family must complete eight (8) hours of service per registered player. Families do have the option to buy out their hours. However, your time and commitment to our League in service hours is much greater than money.

Team Parent (Satisfies 8 Hours)
As Team Parent you will assist your Head Coach in communicating with team families, as well as the coordination of end of year party and participation awards. Team parents will also coordinate snack schedules, team Auction baskets, as well as coach thank-you gifts.
Scorekeeper (Satisfies 8 Hours)
Each team shall have scorekeepers (2 max) that share the responsibility of keeping score for their team during the season. One scorekeeper from each team will keep score during every game. The Home team scorekeeper is considered the Official Scorekeeper of the game and will use the GameChanger app to keep score, while the Away team scorekeeper will run the scoreboard.
Game Day Field Prep (Satisfies 8 Hours)
This is a vital role on game day as games cannot begin until fields are ready to go. Parent help allows coaches to focus on warming up their team before the game. Field Prep tasks may consist of chalking the field, prepping the batter's box and mound, installing bases, as well as raking and watering the in-field.

Snack Bar
Your Volunteer Hours requirement can be fulfilled by working shifts in the GEPB Snack Shack. Shifts of 2 or 4 hours will be available, and opportunities will be dependent on game schedules . Advanced sign-up is required on Sports Helper. All volunteers must sign-in AND sign-out to receive credit for hours served.

League Events
Your Volunteer Hours requirement can be fulfilled by helping the Events Coordinator during league events such as Opening Day, Spring Fundraiser (what are we calling it this year?), and our Black and Gold Event. Sign-ups will be available on Sports Helper.
